Couple wins largest casino jackpot in French history
A couple in France could not have chosen a better day to break the record for the biggest jackpot in the country's casino history, winning over £4 million on their 13th wedding anniversary.
The pair managed to pick up the huge €5.5m (£4.7m) jackpot playing slots on a one-arm bandit in a casino in the south-west of the country. The Bagneres-de-Bigorre games room is part of a network hooked up to 100 other casinos offering the huge prize funds.
Online slots fans will know all about big jackpot prizes, and this one surpasses France's previous record-holding win of just over €3 million.

Another record casino win was recently pocketed in Korea. Kerching readers will remember the story of the man who picked up the biggest win in Korean casino history recently.
Ahn Seung-pil picked up £461,238 playing at Kangwon Land, which is ironically the only offline casino in the country to accept Korean players.
Rather than use the money himself, however, Ahn instead decided to donate it to a worthy cause in the Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology after viewing a television advert for the group which called for donations from the public. He said:
"I initially thought of using the money to pay off my personal debt, but I thought it would be more meaningful to use the money for the public good rather than for personal use."
