Environmentally friendly casino message spread by campaigners
The environment has proved to be a very big topic in the news over the last few years, with more and more being done in an attempt to curb carbon emissions and protect the planet.
Of course, Kerching online casino fans can rest safe in the knowledge that by choosing to play on the internet they are saving emissions through not travelling to a land-based site.
Now a group of students have attempted to use the popularity of casinos in order to spread the green message. The University of Singapore members have devised their own games based on titles such as roulette but with an eco-friendly twist.
For example, in roulette, players have to pick up as many positive messages about the environment as possible in order to win, while the aim of Jack-Politics is to collect four representative nations in the slots.
The games form part of an interactive exhibition to be put on during the university's month-long green carnival, and project director Tan Wei Rui remarked that it is hoped the project will engage the local community. He said:
"We came up with this concept of climate casino, where (players) gamble with nature, (and) bet with (their) future. So this is the message that we are trying to bring across - that you are actually gambling with your future now by leading your various lifestyles and should do our best to change."
