Gambling Commission report praises industry regulation
An authority on the UK's online casino industry has revealed that the prevalence of illegal underage gambling has been reduced.
According to research by the Gambling Commission, there have been improvements made by websites across the nation, with the majority tested having sufficient barriers in place to block people who are not above legal age from playing games like online slots.
However, Nick Tolifuk, director of regulation at the commission, remarked that there is still work to be done in order to nullify the problem. He said:
"While these results are encouraging, young people under 18 are not permitted to gamble in adult gaming centres."

The body has also announced that it will be working with operators from across the UK in an effort to further curb instances of underage gambling. It would also like to see companies sharing good business practice with each other, as well as in-house testing on current security methods. In addition, it may be that they employ room moderators to flag suspicious behaviour during casino games, in order to ensure all players are legally entitled to be there.
Since 2005, the Gambling Commission has been responsible for regulating commercial gambling across the UK. It oversees online casinos and betting, as well as offline casinos, bingo clubs and arcades. The body also monitors British-based companies who operating remote gambling hubs.
