Land-based and online casino use showing an upwards trend

We know that Kerching members are fully aware of the fun that can be had playing casino games. With that in mind, we doubt they'd be too surprised to hear that there has been an increase in the prevalence of casino gambling over the past 12 months.

According to a new report published by accounting and consulting firm RubinBrown, the rise was most obvious in the US, where states like Missouri, Pennsylvania and Colorado all recorded jumps in casino use over the course of 2009. Colorado saw game-playing in the state rise by 2.65 per cent, Missouri by 2.85, and Pennsylvania by a whopping 21.6 per cent.

With casino gambling only legal in 13 US states - home to 445 land-based and riverboat casinos - the Midwest is responsible for 22 per cent of adjusted gross receipts in the country last year between the states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri.

Partner in charge of RubinBrown's Gaming Services Group Chelle Adams remarked that the recession has not deeply affected the casino industry. She said:

"People are staying closer to home and spending less on bigger travel destinations, allowing for the Midwest to continue creating capital projects."

Play by land, river or online

Kerching's casino makes it possible to enjoy the thrills and spills of land and river-based casino play without the hustle and bustle of the crowd or the risk of getting wet!

For example, Double Bonus Spin Roulette gives the offline favourite a modern twist with an extra yellow pocket which provides players with two free spins should their ball land in it.
