Casino experts say drinks make playing more fun

It may seem difficult to imagine the casino experience without a nice cold drink - especially in this weather - but casino officials are calling for free drinks bans in the US. The issue has become so big in industry circles that a casino expert has called for calm and a little perspective.

States in the mid-west such as Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Kansas have employed legislation under which complimentary drinks cannot be served by casinos to their customers.

In addition, a recent law passed in new Ohio means the state's first casinos, set to open this year, will not be able to serve alcohol to consumers.

Now casino expert Lynette Gross has commented that she believes proposed plans to extend the ban to include all states except gambling capitals Las Vegas and Atlantic City would prove to be a mistake. She said:

"It just makes it more fun. It's one less thing you have to pay for. I don't think it makes you drink more. It's just a nice perk."

Online gaming and the law

The oft-confusing legalities of online casino use in the US has been well-documented, but UK players need not worry about such restrictions.

While online casino use is banned across most of the US, players in the UK enjoy some of the most liberal licensing laws in the world. Indeed, the beauty of playing games such as online roulette or online slots from home is that players can enjoy a little tipple whenever they like!
