World Cup squad gets board game stash to while away the hours
England's football players will have something in common with Kerching online casino members this summer - both will be kept entertained by Cluedo and Battleship when the big game isn't on.
Research from Tesco has revealed that a stash of classic games has been picked up by the team to keep themselves busy when they are not playing or on the training field, and top of the list are Cluedo and Battleships.
Kerching players will know all about the wonder and mystery of Cluedo - Who Won It?, but now the likes of Rooney, Lampard and Crouch will be trying to find out who killed who, where and with which instrument. Hopefully, it won't be Torres with a penalty after extra time!
Battleship - Search and Destroy is another of our titles based on a popular board game. With the England players turning to the board game original during downtime, let's keep our fingers crossed the Three Lions can strategically outwit and defeat any and all international fleets in their way this summer!
Tesco buyer Alex Pitts said the games will give the team a helpful diversion:
"This is a really diverse range of games and some of them will be helping to test the player's tactics in a light-hearted way."
According to an England insider, it won't just be board games keeping the squad busy, but inspirational sporting biographies. Top of the list is Barney Ronay's The Manager (The Absurd Ascent Of The Most Important Men In Football), which will reportedly be on coach Fabio Capello's reading list.
The source added that such activities provide "a great way for the players to build good team spirit".
