When to stand
It's important to set your boundaries from the start. What number would you be happy standing on - 16? 17? 18? Remember that the dealer must stand on 17 so you don't always have to get that close to 21 to win. If you've got 17, for example, ask yourself whether hitting again is really likely to produce a card worth four or less.
Splitting
Too many players ignore online blackjack hints and never bother splitting, simply because they don't understand the concept or haven't thought through the implications. If you've got two identical cards at the start, you'll normally be entitled to split these into separate hands. This is a great way of overcoming a poor deal - say, two sevens.
Doubling down
You can earn huge returns by doubling down at the right time. When you get your opening pair, you may be invited to double your original wager and receive one more card before standing. If you have a low double-digit score, this could be well worth a shot. Remember, though, that the odds are stacked against you if you have a particularly low or high cumulative score to start with.
