A new super yacht is being designed around the principality of Monaco, famous for its casinos and race track.
Think of a yacht and what do you imagine? Maybe a little sailboat; children learning the ropes. Or a round-the-world style speed machine? How about a boat with 24 guest cabins, two swimming pools, two helicopter pads, several hot tubs and a disco hall? Welcome to the world of the super yacht!
A new design has recently been unveiled for a massive 'super yachts', based on the principality of Monaco and featuring its own racetrack and casino, complete with tables and slots games. The yacht, being built by a British firm, will be 500 foot long and cost in the region of £700 million to build, making it one of the largest and most expensive private yachts in the world.
The Streets of Monaco yacht will feature scaled-down versions of famous landmarks from the 0.78 square mile playground in the south of France. Famed for its high-class living, nightclubs and casinos, Monaco itself is no stranger to the super yacht, with a harbour that is often packed full of them. A replica of the famous Monte Carlo Casino will take pride of place on the yacht, providing a fully functioning floating casino for the lucky owner and their guests.
There's just one problem before this super yacht goes into production, however - finding someone rich enough to buy it. A yacht of this size will require 70 crew members and cost millions of pounds to run each year. The current largest private yacht in the world is Eclipse, owned by Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich, costing £665 million and measuring in at 536 feet long.
